INTRODUCING MR. AKIRA WADA: A DYNAMIC LEADER TO GUIDE CFAO KENYA LIMITED TOWARDS CONTINUED GROWTH AND INNOVATION.

We are delighted to announce Mr. Akira Wada as the newly appointed Managing Director of CFAO Kenya Limited, succeeding Mr. Toyoki Kuno, who is moving back to the Mobility Division at Toyota Tsusho Corporation (TTC), in the Industrial Machinery Department after an exemplary five-year tenure in Kenya.

Mr. Wada brings a formidable wealth of experience in global business management and international project development, making him an excellent choice for this pivotal role. Beginning his career journey at Tomen America Inc. in New York, USA, Mr. Wada quickly ascended to the role of General Manager of Corporate Planning, where he oversaw the merger with Toyota Tsusho America Inc. and spearheaded the restructuring and divestment of non-core assets. This role was followed by a fruitful stint as the Assistant Vice President and General Manager of Strategic Management at Toyota Tsusho America Inc., where he devised and implemented robust growth strategies in the North American market.

Returning to Japan, Mr. Wada transitioned into the fertilizer industry within Toyota Tsusho Corporation, serving as the Group Leader of the Fertilizer Business Development Group. During his tenure, he demonstrated proficiency in managing and strategizing fertilizer industry-related businesses and investments, notably executing a $25 million equity investment in an Indian fertilizer manufacturing company. Subsequently, he ascended to the role of Chief Executive Officer at CFAO Agri Limited (previously known as Toyota Tsusho Fertilizer Africa Ltd.), leading the establishment of a fertilizer blending plant in Eldoret, Kenya.

Mr. Wada’s most recent role was as General Manager of the Planning Department in the Africa Division at Toyota Tsusho Corporation in Tokyo, Japan. There, he successfully managed business strategies, human resources, and external affairs, contributing to a remarkable $9 billion in annual sales for Toyota Tsusho’s African business.

On the academic front, Mr. Wada holds an MBA from Georgetown University, Washington, DC, USA, which he obtained in 2002, and a BA in Laws from Keio University, Tokyo, Japan, earned in 1988.

With his remarkable experience, dynamic leadership, and a demonstrated propensity for business growth, Mr. Akira Wada is set to navigate CFAO Kenya Limited towards sustained success and market expansion. His profound understanding of global markets, strategic planning capabilities, and dexterity in managing multicultural environments make him an invaluable addition to our team. We firmly believe that Mr. Wada’s appointment, as Managing Director will propel CFAO Kenya Limited towards greater growth, innovation, and profitability.
